A Brief History of the Club
Established in 1995 with one Under 8 year old team. Most of the players in that team are still playing within the club.
Cherrybrook United Netball Club was the brainchild of Bronwyn Aitchison. Bronwyn saw the need for a club based in Cherrybrook as West Pennant Hills at that stage was growing in to a massive size. Bronwyn gathered together enough players and committed parents and formed a committee to create all the infrastructure which includes a constitution, by-laws and policy by which the club is run.
In 1996 the Club advertised the clubs Registration Day and took registrations totalling 14 teams. One of those teams was an existing A Grade team, from a one team club called "The Uniteds". This team was originally started and coached by Barbara Wood. The funds from "The Uniteds" was transferred to Cherrybrook, hence the name "Cherrybrook United Netball Club Inc."
To this day Cherrybrook is very fortunate to have a band of around 13 very hardworking committed people carrying out the day to day running of the club. Despite being the largest Club within the Hills District Netball Association the committee tries to maintain the closeness and care for their players which they had when the Club first started.
