Played 30/4/11
What a awesome start to the season. Alicia and Olivia were consistant in attack whilst Carly and Amber popped the goals in. Angela, Jenna and Courtney's defence was solid. Well played girls, good luck for the rest of the season. Your coaches Derani and Clare and parents are all proud of you.
13/1 (Team 20) v's Carlingford
Win 24-5
Played 28/5/11
Congratulations girls on another win. Although the team was plagued with illness, all the girls gave 100%. Courtney and Ollie were brilliant in attack and a great defensive effort by Jenna, Angela and Kate – Ang and Kate once again locking the opposition out of the goal circle at every opportunity.
Alicia, Carly and Amber shot beautifully for ¾ and a surprise change in the last quarter with Kate and Carly swapping positions. Kate managed to score a goal and Carly proved a force to be reckoned with as GK, notching up a significant number of intercepts.
The 2nd half was cut short with time called for an ambulance to attend to any injury, but the girls still managed a very convincing win.
We look forward to next week's big game against the team coming first in our competition.
13/1 (Team 20) v's Normanhurst
Win 38-14
Played 4/6/11
Today the girls played the team coming first in our competition, and as such, there was uncertainty as to how the match would play out.
Thanks to the direction and leadership of our wonderful Coaches, Derani and Clare, the girls came out strong. Courtney and Alicia set a cracking pace in centre court with Ollie, Kate and Angela in defence causing an upset in the opposition circle with only 3 goals scored in the first quarter and none in the second quarter.
Second half saw our team up 19 to 3 and a change in defence with Jenna taking the court in spectacular form. Building on the lead from the first two quarters, Amber and Carly worked the circle hard and continued our impressive lead, finishing the match with a comfortable win 38-14.
Well done girls. Enjoy the break over the long weekend, and we look forward to the last match of Round 1 when we verse Pennant Hills.

Undefeated! What a nice way to finish the first half of the draw girls! The girls all started off strong taking a nice lead by the end of the 1st quarter, they then had a bit of a rest for the 2nd and 3rd quarters then came back strong again in the 4th quarter to win the game. Our defence was strong with some nice tips and some wonderful intercepts, mid court players found space and moved the ball up quickly to assist in the scoring of 25 beautiful goals and rebounding at both ends was strong. Some of the girls wore unfamilar patches today giving them the opportunity to feel what is like to play in different positions. Well done to those girls that took this on. Keep up the great work team, and keep challenging yourself each week girls.
13/1 (Team 20) v's Cherrybrook (Team 19)
Win 24-12
Played 25/6/11
It was Cherrybrook versus Cherrybrook today for round two and our girls did not let us down. All players had the challenge of a slippery end of the court which thankfully, after a few scary moments, did not result in any serious injuries. There were some excellent moves from our shooters Carly and Amber under tough defence as they continued to pop those goals in. Angela and Kate were very tight in their defence with great intercepts and rebounds rewarding all their hard work. The centre court was dominated by Alicia, Jenna and Olivia as they worked tirelessly to get the ball down to the shooters.
A big thank you to Eden and Elisa-Jane who helped out during the second half, they were a great combination in defence.
Well done girls, we are proud of you!

A great win in difficult conditions. This was a cold, wet Saturday morning and the ball was very slippery. Emily scored both goals and was supported beautifully in the goal circle by Millie and Isabel. Bianca and Emma rose played wonderfully in defence taking many intercepts. Annalise, Monet and Suzann worked hard in attack and threw some fabulous passes. A great effort by all!!

Our girls showed great improvement from their first week. Girls followed instruction from the coach well by staying on their players when their opponents had the ball and spreading out when we had it. The girls had the majority of possession and won all around the court but unfortunately were unable to convert this in to goals. Going down 1-0 didn't really reflect the effort and improvement the girls showed. Seren was announced player of match after pulling off a number of intercepts.

Today's game was 9 Years Netball at its best. We met our match and contested Galston right up until the bell in the last quarter. Our top defenders were Charolette, Zara, Courtney and Caitlin. What a fantastic effort from these 4 girls preventing Galston to score in the 2nd and 3rd Quarters. Our Centre court players Emily and Montana worked extremely well together around the circle in terrible slippery and wet conditions and mastered quick strong chest passes that always found their mark in the circle. Wonderful positioning and Shooting in the Circle Emma and Caitlin never giving up and dominating play in the last 3 quarters of the game. CONGRATULATIONS TEAM ... I'm so proud of your progress and Team spirit. ENTERTAINMENT PLUS.

What a great game played by Cherrybrook Gold today! Everyone worked hard to make sure that the ball was nearly always in our possession. 44 attempts at goal showed just how hard our team was working the court. When Galston did get the ball, our players also worked very hard in defensive positions. Player of the match today was Claire Paul. Great game team.

After having a bye last week the team came back ready to play some great netball. The girls moved the ball down the court and around the goal circle really well with some fantastic passing by Emily, Zara, Courtney and Caitlin. Tight defence by Charlotte, Emma and Montana had the opposition with a "held" ball a number of times. The girls played extremely well as a team and showed wonderful sportsmanship. Emily was our player of the week for her outstanding passing and constant intercepts.

What a great game played by the team with some standout performances by Taylor Foxall (defence in goal & player of the match) and Emily Fraietta for her goal shooting. Both teams had equal ball possession, but Cherrybrook was able to convert attempts to goals as a result of good ball passing along the court and sheer determination. Special mention to Sophie Jakobs for player of the week from last week and a fantastic game at centre.

A fantastic effort by all the girls with great teamwork and passing from Emma, Montana and Emily in the centre court, tight defence and some nice intercepts from Zara, Charlotte and Caitlin, and great shooting from Courtney, Caitlin and Charlotte. Win 17-2
Played - 1/5/10
Our wonderful team is thriving under the guidance of Tracey and Lucy. Zara had a quiet half as GK, but a great second half as WD, where she was running into gaps and passing well. Charlotte played a hard game as GD and C. Her anticipation of the game is notable as is her determination. If the team needed to pass the ball, Emma, (WD & WA), was always free and quick to run after loose balls. Montana had a great game as C being all over the court, and running into the gaps to get free. As GK, Montana was good at sticking to her partner. Emily shot some beautiful goals in the second half, and was free for just about every centre pass as WA and GA. Caitlin (GA & GD) had a good game with many intercepts, jumping to get the ball from Normanhurst. Courtney was an excellent GS for the entire match, getting many balls in on her first attempt. Her determination to take ownership of the ball is an asset. Normanhurst played a lovely game and everyone had a good time despite the wet start.

What an exciting, close game to start the season! Both Cherrybrook teams should be proud of how well they played their first game of competition netball. To our team, well done to Courtney, Charlotte and Zara for their fabulous intercepts and defence play. Well done to our centre court players Emily, Montana (plus Zara and Emma for a quarter) who were quick with their passing and moving around the court along with our excellent shooters Caitlin, Emma (and Montana for the last quarter) who moved and passed to each other really well in the circle. Our player of the week was Emma for her excellent passing and breaking for every ball.

Despite the rainy and cold conditions the girls arrived full of excitement and ready and willing to give it their best! North Epping found it difficult to get through our tight defence from the first whistle. Over and over their balls were intercepted by Kyara, Amelia & Charlotte, while their players tried to break away from our tight defence. Despite the slippery conditions the girls also played hard in attack. Lucy, Milly and Hannah worked wonders continually feeding the ball towards the goal circle. Alex and Joanna were stars in the goal circle, working well together to share our 10 goals. Well done girls, in what were very challenging conditions (…well for the mums and dads on the sidelines anyway!!)

A tough game today! Lucy and Hannah worked hard mid court with swift centre passes and quick breaking..Amelia and Charlotte were relentless in defence making aggressive intercepts on several occasions. Both Alex and Joanna worked the circle beautifully scoring an amazing 10 goals under great pressure from our opponents. Milly and Kyara had the toughest job today as the Hills Grammar team proved to be just a little stronger. Great job girls.

Win 11-8

What an exciting game the girls put on for us today! The first half saw all the girls confidently take control. Our defenders Charlotte, Kyara and Amelia made it very tough for Galston to make any headway, while Hannah, Milly and Alex grabbed all opportunities in attack with some fast passes and fancy footwork. The highlight of the game was the way Lucy and Alex worked the goal circle with some excellent breaks and positioning to snag 8 quick goals and take us into half time with an 8-2 lead. Galston fought back hard in the 2nd half and our weary girls hung on desperately with Alex continuing her superb shooting to snatch an exciting 11-8 win. Congrats to all players on a great game!

Alex, Lucy & Joanna shot the winning goals today - well done girls, but not without the help from their team mates. Hannah & Milly worked hard in the centre third & brought the ball down with some great passes. Wow- another fantastic win! The game took the girls by surprise when Hills Grammar scored the first goal. This was to be short lived as the girls shifted their game into attack and we watched some superb team plays down the court. Emma Smith and Ellie worked extremely well together in the goal circle, making great anticipated passes and consistently scoring well. There was also excellent team work and feeding into the circle from Georgia and Mallory in the first half and Piper and Eliza in the second half. Defence worked hard all match with Jemma and Emma Robinson containing the goal circle and making good intercepts. They were supported by strong centre court and wing defence plays. The whole team played hard and their maturity in reading court play combined with their hungriness for ball possession made for some keen spectator watching. Thanks again to the coaches Sharon and Jane for their efforts.

Wow what a game!
On Saturday July 31st Cherrybrook team 28 had a smashing game, we had great goals by our shooters, awesome defence and intercepts and attacks just to get it down to our end was fantastic. We are very proud of how we played cause we tried our best but unfortunately to us we got beaten by St Patricks by 5 goals with the score 17-22. It was a disappointment but at the same time an achievement to have played so well. Our players stuck with their opponents and had a great game of netball.
